Card Making Monday: Happy Fathers Day Card
This was the card that I created for my father made especially for father's day which was yesterday here in Australia!
I'm really proud of myself- no pink, no flowers, and no frills! And I think it still looks pretty classy if I do say so myself!
I usually use pre-cut cards but for this one I made my own from bazzil card stock in a light shade of brown. I love this card stock, it's a dream to work with and I didn't even need to use my scoring blade either! Then on top of my card stock I began layering. I used white card stock, followed by Kaiser craft marrakech zellij scrapbooking paper. Then I used my brown bazzil card stock again along with another rectangle of white card stock. To finish off my background I used Kaiser craft's Iris from the Loire Valley Collection.
I then stuck down some stitched grossgrain ribbon that I've had in my stash for years. Finally I've found a card to use it on!
For my tag I used Kaiser craft's Ledger from the Timeless Collection. I love these papers for creating a vintage look. I cut out a love heart from the Iris paper, stuck it down and then finished off with a rub-on.
I used chipboard for the word 'Fathers' and covered the letters with distress ink by Tim Holtz in the shade tea dye to create an aged look. To complete the card I stuck down the word 'Day' with felt letters.
Dad loved the card! I also spoiled him with his favourite chocolate too- cherry ripe cupcakes! Watch out for that post, also, throughout this month I'll be showing you the other father's day cards that I've been working on!
