The Sketchbook Challenge- My Materials

by - Monday, February 07, 2011

I picked up some materials the other day so I can finally start my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Challenge! I just got some really dirt cheap products as I can't draw or paint to save myself, but I didn't want to let that stop me from getting involved. I must stress that all my sketches will be created using stencils or templates as art is so not my gifting. Seeing as I'm more a scrapbooking/card making person I'll be trying to involve this style in my sketchbook. This should be really interesting!

Here's what I got:

 Material haul

Sketch and draw pack and charcoal pencils

 Some coloured charcoal pencils

I have a calligraphy set! I am so excited!! Although I can't figure out how to get the ink out, the instructions are terrible. I'm thinking I should try and you tube it. Anyone know how to use it? And yes, I will try attempting calligraphy in my sketches but I am a total beginner, you've been warned.

Metallic oil pastels, I love these!

Soft pastels

And what's a sketchbook without some watercolour pencils?

And a sketchbook of course!

The bonus with these purchases is that I can also use them in my card making! Yay! Other materials that I'll be using include paint, coloured pencils, textas, gel pens, glitter and calligraphy pens. There are so many talented artists and some amazing sketches that I can't help but feel rather intimidated but in the name of fun, I'm willing to give it a go and get involved. Although a little behind, I'm officially ready to get sketching!
