french blueberry star spangle manicure

by - Thursday, March 07, 2013

I was sorting through my stored images and discovered a few manicures I had forgotten to post. What can I say, I have the memory of a goldfish lately.

I bought some spangles in an array of colours and different shapes off Ebay last year to try out. I decided on working with some blue stars and came up with a funky french manicure.
I think I likey!

The sparkle the spangles create is just brilliant. They brighten up any dull day. I found them extremely easy to apply. After I finished painting my nails all that I did was stick them over a wet top coat. To seal them I just painted a second top coat straight over the stars.
As you would probably know by now, I absolutely love a good thick french tip. For this manicure I used the same concept as I did for my Mode and Birthday Babe glitter french manicure. I used Mode cosmetics nail enamel in Blueberry as the main feature colour.
For my other colours I used BYS nail art lacquer in Neon Blue and added a strip of blue glitter before adding the spangles.
I loved doing something out of the blue (pun intended) for a change. It's definitely not your average french manicure.
