Summer
has officially arrived in Australia (it has been scorching here in Melbourne),
which means it is time to update my manicure and pedicure shades for the warmer
weather.
In
winter I typically wear deep, vampy shades, so I am excited to swap dark lacquers
for more vibrant hues.

Happy Thursday, Chronic Crafties! Today I am sharing my latest water marble manicure. This one is my third attempt.
I quite like it, although some of the patterns didn't really turn out too well, and for some reason this time around I had a lot of problems with air bubbles popping on the nails, leaving little dots.
The colours were inspired by the print on my pyjama pants (I would have done hearts, except I'm just not that clever).
For this manicure, I started off with painting my nails white using OPI Alpine Snow as a base colour. Then I did my water marble using the following colours:
China Glaze - Grape Pop
China Glaze - For Audrey
OPI - Alpine Snow
OPI - Do You Lilac It?
If you want to know more about water marbling, there are heaps of tutorials on YouTube.
So, what do you creative kids think? x

I am terribly unhappy with this manicure.
A valentine manicure epic fail! It's so blah. I didn't realise that the heart glitter polish was exactly the same shade as my base colour, they looked totally different in the bottles!
I used three coats of china glaze in strawberry smoothie and six coats of nicole by OPI love your life.
I really wanted multi coloured hearts, but sadly that polish by Maybelline that I have been longing for has been discontinued. Boo hoo. So I had to settle for an OPI polish.
I'm still undecided on whether I like the glitter heart polish or not. I do like the glittery shimmer, but there needs to be more hearts. I found that all the hearts stuck to the sides of the bottle, even when I stuck a tooth pick in to try and mix it all up. I would have loved more hearts on my nails then glitter.
It's not one of my favourite manicures. I'll have to try it over a contrasting base colour next time.

I did this manicure back in December last year. I guess you could say that it's kind of a Christmas manicure.
This is 3 coats of China Glaze in the shade Red Essence. I had a few functions on in that month and the colour matched perfectly with my dress (featured above). I just love the soft shimmer that it has to it!
This is my very last manicure that I have to show you from last year. Next week I'll start showing you the ones that I've been doing during this year so far. Prepare yourselves, you ain't seen nothing yet!
