Spring butterfly spangle manicure

by - Thursday, October 10, 2013

I've been enjoying the nail art spangles that I purchased online from Hong Kong. I especially love the pretty pastel coloured butterfly ones that I used in this manicure. They are just so fun, and I can't help but be happy when I look down at them.
For this manicure I thought that I would have another go at freehand and paint some grass. The first thing I did was sponge some ulta3 nail colour in 'lagoon' on the tips of my nails, and when dried I added blades of grass at different lengths with a nail art brush and some green acrylic paint.
Considering I can't draw/paint to save myself I think I did ok. The butterflies really make a difference, though. I think without them my blades of grass look more like mangled seaweed.
I stuck my spangles down with just a clear top coat. It really is such a simple and cute spring manicure. It's not a perfect manicure but I definitely had fun doing it, and that's the whole point of creativity.
I think it is my favourite manicure I've done so far. It turned out better than what I had hoped for.
