Card Making Monday: Quilled 21st Birthday Card

by - Monday, April 18, 2011

I made this card for my sister's 21st which was earlier this year.

This was my first attempt at quilling.

I love the look of quilling but after working with a few strips of paper it can become quite tedious.

This card took me three hours to complete as I had to keep stopping and giving my hands a rest from all twisting and gluing...

but overall I am very pleased with how my first attempt turned out! I'm looking forward to trying out different quilling shapes other than circles and taking on bigger projects.

The 21 in the centre was punched out using my cuttlebug machine and one of the alphabet die sets (the name has escaped me, but for those who own a cuttlebug can use any style of numbers that are available from the die cut range).

Materials used:
super glue
quilling tool
white card stock
pink card stock
pink quilling paper
green quilling paper
pink ribbon roses
silver rhinestones
small butterfly punch
cuttlebug alphabet die
