Weekly Word Wednesday- Introduction

by - Wednesday, March 02, 2011

Welcome to Weekly Word Wednesday! This is where I'll be posting all about living life as a Christian with chronic illness and my faith in God. I'll be sharing anything from faith building scriptures, my favourite worship songs, to devotionals and what lessons in life God is teaching me.

People often ask me how I cope with living with multiple chronic illnesses- "How do you do it"? I won't go into to much detail for now as I'll be writing about this in future posts but I honestly don't know how I do it. All I know is that my strength comes from my faith in God in knowing that he has a plan and a purpose for my life, a plan far greater than I could ever imagine. During the most toughest and darkest days, when I feel weak and weary, I am comforted by the fact that in my weakness God is strong. His strength lives in me, and my strength in life comes from knowing that I am His child, totally loved and adored.

Being a Christian isn't easy, especially when living with a chronic illness and I'll be sharing heaps of articles and tips on how you can trust God and strengthen your faith despite facing chronic pain and illness. I'll also be sharing tips on how churches can reach out and help support young people living with invisible chronic illnesses, not just within the church but within the local community also.

I'm really excited about these posts so much so that I'm even considering sharing bits and pieces from my journal! I write lots of letters to God, and I think it's such a powerful thing to do. I'm not the only one who does this either, there are heaps of Christian authors who have published theirs also in hope of encouraging someone else in their faith. So I figure that if I can help encourage one person by being brave enough to share some of my journals about my faith and the ups and downs of life with chronic illness - my pain, frustration, tears, and sleepless nights have been well worth it.
